STORY
Welcome to Pulchra. This world is unlike ours, it's not our beloved Earth. This world is different, belonging to canines, felines, and other animals. Within Pulchra, there are realms, and there aren't any humans. Humans used to be part of Pulchra, until something happened years ago, wiping them all out. There are four packs that live in Pulchra, each pack has its own realm. These packs are called Hectos, Umbra, Lucis, and Robur. While everything seems quiet, things aren't so good with the packs. All of the packs are really warring with each other, because of each pack's beliefs and personalities. Will you join the fight today, or just be a lonely outsider, with no place to go?

Cold. That was how this forest was. Cold as night. Any place in the Saccus realm was cold anyway, and eerie. Zara liked it. The Kishu liked the darkness. Darkness was her friend. As Zara padded along the forest, she stopped to get a whiff of the air. She could only smell the cold air again. The young dog sighed and sat down. Only known to her, the burial places of her family were nearby. A year or two ago, Zara had killed her parents and siblings, a disturbing act that only a dog messed-up in the head would do. As Zara began remembering that harrowing event, she could sense another dog's presence. She didn't speak nor turn around to see who the dog was. She had a feeling it was Jericho, the Alpha of the Umbra pack.

His steps were quiet, carefully placed so only the grass was briefly disturbed. His body swayed slightly with each step, muscles tight beneath his thin white pelt. It had become a habit of his to take a small stroll early in the morning, often before the rest of the pack had woken from their slumbers. Other times, such as this, he had something to attend to that kept him from taking his morning walk. As soon as it had been settled, he slipped into the foliage, disappearing from sight. The Black Pool was his primary destination, always visited first and foremost. There was no reason to it, as he only paused his stroll long enough to stare into the murky water, thinking about everything and yet nothing. Then he turned away and carried on, the scout in him telling him to check the nearest border, even though he knew a patrol had left only moments before he had. His steps slowed to a halt, his nostrils flaring as he took in a deep breath. With the benefit of the slight breeze blowing in his direction, he managed to catch the scent of one of his own. This was not surprising, yet he treated it like any other encounter. He kept his distance, tracking the scent until the white fur of a female dog could be seen among the trees. Then he stopped and simply watched. Finding nothing of interest from his present position, Jericho allowed his paws to carry him forward. There was still great care in his gait, letting him glide across the forest floor with minimal effort and sound. " Come here often?" His voice was low and hushed, as if he did not want to disturb the forest. ooc: so smooth jericho tag: Zara

Zara was able to hear pawsteps, and then the voice of Jericho. Her Alpha, the Alpha of all the Umbras. The Kishu nodded, still not looking behind her. She liked doing this. Especially if she had the blood of prey or an enemy on her mouth so she could scare someone. Now, Zara didn’t have any blood on her mouth. “ Indeed.” The female spoke, her voice cool. “ I tend to come here a lot. Relaxing to me.” One who knew that Zara’s dead family lay here would probably say it was disturbing that Zara actually felt relaxed here, but if you were someone who didn’t really care, or if you were also evil, different story. Zara then turned around, facing the blue-eyed dog directly now. “ I like the darkness, anyway, that this forest provides.”

Cropped ears twitched as the large male slowly slunk closer to the hunter. He kept his distance, both out of respect for personal space and for his own comfort. His tail hung low while his head lifted high. He stopped his steps as Zara looked his way, and he held his gaze steady. " This place must hold significance, then." Jericho turned his head, taking in a deep breath. Despite her beloved darkness, even he could see the faint light filtering in through the canopy overhead. Even in a dark forest, there was light. The sun would make sure of that, especially as the winter months strip the trees of their leaves. Jericho let out the breath he had been holding as a sigh, and pale blue eyes turned to focus on the female. " If you don't have plans," the alpha took a step to the side, inclining his head, " then walk with me." tag: Zara

Zara nodded at the Alpha's words. " It does." She replied with her cold manner. The Kishu always spoke like this. She usually always had no emotion with her. She was a strange dog, indeed. When Jericho then said to walk with him, Zara nodded. " Sure." She responded. When Jericho would start walking, the Japanese dog breed would proceed to follow him. As they did walk, Zara's eyes fixated on what was ahead, not looking at the Alpha. " I wonder what's so special about the Black Pond." She commented. Truly, she did wonder why Jericho headed there so often.

Even if the hunter had declined his offer, he would have left. Without a fuss, at that. He had no problems ending this little encounter and carrying on. In fact, he probably should have left her without giving the option to accompany him. It was faster to finish up his habitual scouting, vaguely disguised as a morning walk. It was too late now; she had already agreed to join him. Turning over his shoulder, his paws carried him forward. Torn ears remained alert, twitching to the smallest of sounds. " I'll let you know when I find out," Jericho's voice hummed with the faintest hint of sarcasm. 'Finding out' would probably require drinking of the pond, and he had plenty of reason to believe the water was unfit for canine consumption. Yet, even the danger of it made it that much more alluring. tag: Zara

"I'll let you know when I find out."Those were the only words that the Alpha had spoken. Zara felt a little annoyed by that response. The Kishu knew that "when I find out" wouldn't be possible. Jericho would probably be dead by the time he found out. Zara knew of the legends of the Black Pond. If you drank from it, you were cursed. Zara had remembered hearing of how the former Alpha had died. He was killed from drinking from the Black Pond, the Goddess Luna had taken their soul to join them in Infernum or Ethereal. Zara knew there were different outcomes. " Fair enough." She replied bluntly. " If you were to find out you probably would've been dead, or be alive carrying a curse on your shoulders." The female was staring ahead, and then she looked at Jericho with a smirk. " One of my enemies was killed by drinking from the Black Pond. I made them. They suffered a disease for at least 2 months before they died in this very forest. They became insane."
