All of the canine residents of Pulchra believe in many kinds of legends and lore. Below are the stories that every canine creature believes in and knows of.
CREATION OF PULCHRA
All of the canine residents of Pulchra have a creation story they believe in. Their story goes like this...
Once, there was an ancient dog called Ephistos, who created the world of Pulchra. All he had to do was howl, and his howl sent sparks beginning to fly. Each spark that flew from his mouth when he howled morphed into a part of Pulchra. By the time all of the sparks had morphed, Pulchra went into existence, and Ephistos became a normal dog in this land. He howled again, and a dog appeared, a female, by the name of Hera. Ephistos and Hera became mates and had offspring, one of the first dogs of Pulchra. Their children were named Tora, Artemis, Ezra, and Luna. All of Ephistos and Hera's children were different. They had different personalities and appearances, and their relationships became strained with each other. Soon, they all became enemies. This creation story would soon turn into the creation of the packs.
THE CREATION OF THE PACKS
All of Ephistos and Hera's children were enemies now, and therefore formed packs so they could stay away from each other. Artemis, the chaotic one, formed Hectos, the first known pack in Pulchra. Then, Luna founded Umbra, the pack of darkness. Tora founded Lucis, a more friendlier, nicer pack, being Tora was the youngest and the kindest. Finally, Ezra created Robur, a more peaceful pack. Everyone thought the creation of the packs would bring peace to the Gods (Ephistos and Hera's children became one of the canine gods, Ephistos became known as the Creator and Hera known as the Empress.), but they were wrong.
THE FIRST MURDER
Eventually, the pack creation brought only more tension to Pulchra. Artemis became very antagonistic, and wanted to rule all of Pulchra. Tora, the youngest God, ended up feuding with her brother, despite wanting only peace. Out of anger, Artemis killed Tora, and Tora's blood splattered on the leaves of the trees, turning the leaves different colors of red, gold, and orange. The blood of the fallen God caused the leaves to fall off the trees, creating autumn. After Tora's murder, Lucis and Hectos became enemies for a long time.
THE HUMAN DISASTER
Long after the Gods had died, and became spirits, there were humans. They walked among the animals, built homes, but there were no cities or towns, as Pulchra was mainly full of forest and foliage and wildlife. So, these humans built shelters, and they hunted to survive. It was almost as if these new humans in Pulchra were neanderthals or cavemen, ancient people. No one really knows how these humans arrived to Pulchra, unless they found some sort of way to reach it, like taking a boat or flying a plane. The dogs and other animals living in Pulchra were curious about these humans, whom they called “hindwalkers”. These humans would only stick around for a few years, and then they wouldn’t be known of any longer.
Possibly 10 years ago, disaster struck. Some kind of disease only available to humans spread around Pulchra. The humans contracted it, spread it to others. Think of influenza. This...disease, was similar, but worse. Eventually, humans began dying, and most of the human Pulchraen population began decreasing. Soon, there were no more humans. They had all died. Only elderly dogs know of this tale, as they have experienced it themselves.
